CCFK – Sulat Pasasalamat para sa Operation Smile Philippines

Chatters Care For Kids Inc. has launched its ” Sulat Pasasalamat para sa Operation Smile Philippines (OSP) ” campaign during the 30th anniversary of Operation Smile in Manila mission site.

Sulat pasasalamat aims to encourage beneficiaries of Operation Smile and their families to write back to Operation Smile to thank and tell their stories on how Operation Smile has changed their lives.

CCFK distributed around 50 pieces of letter envelopes complete with paper, addressed to the Manila cleft center during the last days of the mission (nov. 29, 2012). Sulat Pasasalamat doesn’t follow any rules on what to write or when to write, OSP beneficiaries and their families can use it or not, it has no deadlines and they are free to write whatever they want.

Its just giving them the whole idea that they can write back to Operation Smile Philippines, taking away the hassle of preparing a letter as all they must do is to write their stories on the piece of paper included in the envelope and bring it back to Manila Cleft Care Center during their follow up check ups.

These letters can be use by Operation Smile on their website, for all donors and future donors to see, so they’ll know that the help they give does really make one’s life change forever.

LRTA-OSP-CCFK Tarpaulin Posting Ceremony – LRT Central Station Oct 12, 2012

Tarpaulins for Operation Smile Philippines

Through the initiative of Chatters Care For Kids Inc, in partnership with the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), and with the help of bloggers and other sponsors, 62 tarpaulins were posted inside the stations of LRT line 1 and 2 to help Operation Smile Philippines in mapping patients with cleft deformities from all over Metro Manila.

A tarpaulin posting ceremony was held last Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10am at the Central LRT 1 Station, led by the President and Executive Director of Operation Smile Philippines – Mr. Roberto J. Manzano, LRTA Public Relations Division Manager – Ms. Evelyn E. Paragas,  Information Officer IV – Ms. Sharon Mondala ,  Chief Safety Officer Security and Safety Division – Engr. Edgar Dela Cruz, Line 1 Station Operations Division Manager - Mr. Joseph Hagos, Public Relations Officer 1 – Ms. Remer Cuarez and President of Chatters Care For Kids Inc. – Mr. James B. Mason.

These tarpaulins contain complete information on how to register a patient with cleft deformity through mobile texting. The tarpaulins are visible in all 31 stations of LRT 1 (Roosevelt to Baclaran) and LRT 2 (Recto to Santolan) inside the lobby or ticket selling area.

With their colorful fonts, these tarpaulins will surely catch the attention of the 400,000 passengers of LRT 1 each day or 13-14 million passengers per month and 200,000 passengers of LRT 2 each day or 5-6 million passengers per month (statistics source: lrta.gov.ph).

According to Operation Smile Philippines President and Executive Director – Mr. Roberto J. Manzano, This tarpaulin posting in LRT is a more effective way of delivering information to the people, much powerful than a tv or radio ad.

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Operation Smile Philippines will be conducting simultaneous medical missions in November and December in various parts of the country, including Manila. Free reconstructive surgery will be done by local and international medical volunteers to patients with cleft deformities.
